Dear Friends,
With November just around the corner, we think about our Thanksgiving plans and the people we are thankful to have in our lives. This time of appreciation is why November is also National Adoption Awareness Month when our nation celebrates adoptive families. On National Adoption Day, Saturday, November 22, in courtrooms around the country, approximately 4,500 adoptions of children from foster care will be finalized.
National Adoption Awareness Month endeavors to highlight the 100,000 children and teens in foster care who are waiting for permanent, loving homes. Every year, 30,000 teens turn 18 without permanent families. C.A.S.E. is proud to be a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids site, funded by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to ensure that EVERY youth in care has the opportunity to find their forever family. We would like to thank Adrianne Jubilee and Jennifer Kramb, our Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Recruiters who are dedicated to finding wonderful families for waiting children and teens in our surrounding counties.
We are excited to invite our local families to join us in celebrating National Adoption Month at our annual Kids Adoption Network Conference to be held on Saturday, November 22nd in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Don’ t miss this opportunity to join over 150 adoptive families and share in the celebration, engage in thoughtful discussions about adoption, meet new friends, and enjoy a fun filled carnival! Prospective parents and parents whose children are not yet old enough to participate are welcome to attend our concurrent Parent Program! Click here for more information and to register.
